A master suite should be your personal sanctuary. Recently, our team wrapped up a stunning full bedroom and bathroom remodel, transforming an outdated, bulky layout into a modern, highly functional retreat.

If you are planning a comprehensive remodel for your own home, it takes more than just picking out pretty tiles. Here are some expert insights and clever construction strategies from our latest project to help you plan a smarter, more luxurious space.

1. Rethink Awkward Bedroom Layouts In the bedroom, the original layout featured an outdated corner TV buildout. We completely removed this structure, reframed the area, and squared off the walls.

  • Expert Tip: Older homes often feature bulky, angled architectural details that waste valuable square footage. Demolishing these built-ins and squaring off the corners instantly modernizes the room, provides more usable floor space, and creates clean, contemporary lines for your furniture placement.

2. Reconfigure the Bathroom for Ultimate Luxury To achieve a high-end spa feel, the bathroom layout needed a major shift. We strategically updated the walk-in shower, making its footprint slightly smaller. Why? This clever spatial adjustment allowed us to seamlessly fit a beautiful new freestanding soaking tub into the room.

  • Expert Tip: You do not always need a costly room addition to get the features you want. Smart spatial planning is key. To keep the smaller shower feeling expansive, we built a custom knee wall (a half-wall) topped with seamless glass. This provides essential water containment and privacy without closing off the room visually.

3. Elevate with Custom Details and Lighting A luxury tub requires the right atmosphere. Next to the freestanding tub, we framed out a custom recessed niche and integrated waterproof LED lighting inside it. This provides a beautiful, ambient glow perfect for evening relaxation. We also contrasted the bright marble-look tile with striking matte black fixtures—including an oversized showerhead and a modern heated towel rack—for a bold, sophisticated finish.

4. Maximize Your Storage Solutions Storage is often the biggest pain point in older bathrooms. To solve this, we completely updated the double vanity with brand-new cabinetry and premium countertops. But we didn’t stop there we also framed in a tall, dedicated wall pantry cabinet.

  • Expert Tip: Always utilize vertical space. Adding a built-in linen pantry cabinet maximizes storage capacity, ensuring your beautiful new countertops stay completely clutter-free.

5. Create a Seamless Visual Flow To tie the entire remodel together, we completely updated all the flooring. By carrying the exact same large-format tile from the bathroom directly into the adjoining custom walk-in closet, we created a flawless transition.

  • Expert Tip: Continuous flooring is a well-known designer secret. Eliminating harsh threshold breaks and carrying the same material through connected spaces draws the eye outward, making the entire master suite feel significantly larger and more cohesive.

Ready to transform your master suite? Whether it involves structural reframing, clever layout adjustments, or installing high end finishes, a successful remodel requires an experienced contractor. We build it right, from the foundational framing to the final polish.
